A contemporary approach to a modern classic design was taken for this family habitat by adding industrial elements such as the barn door tracks and brackets, and black metal framing for the kitchen doors and master bedroom closet partition. The resultant mix creates a fresh elegance with a dash of understated industrialism in this airy apartment.
Clever space planning was incorporated to ensure that not only do all the rooms function to meet the needs of a family of six, but are aesthetically beautiful as well: behind the paneling in the living room are hidden storage units in addition to a fully functional office area; a transparent semi-open walk-in closet was created within the roomy master bedroom; a separate shower was added to the master bathroom without having to sacrifice the bath; and ample storage was added to the streamlined sage green kitchen.
Careful attention is always paid to choosing materials. Custom-cut hexagonal marble mosaic forms a textured master bathroom feature wall juxtaposing against the surrounding smooth white Carrara marble. No detail is ever overlooked - the hinges and doorknob of the glass shower door were specially anodised to perfectly match the brass sanitary hardware fittings.
The surrounding mountains were the inspiration for the custom-painted graphic pattern on the boys’ bedroom wall and bespoke wardrobe design. The patterns in the rooms evoke an energy that is reminiscent of its inhabitants.
The final outcome of the design offers the family an elegant space to connect whilst respecting individual needs, and with maximum comfort and practicality.
