BELLUS SALON 01

Bellus is a well-known high end Japanese hair salon in Hong Kong.  Our client belief is that making customers smile through beauty is their ultimate service goal.

The design concept of Scandinavian mixed with industrial vintage was adopted for this established salon.  We also had two key objectives in mind – to create a calm, warm and stylish environment for the customers to enjoy whilst being pampered and to ensure the space was functional for the professional hairdressers at work.

A raw steel plated reception counter, 1950's industrial style pendant light and a distressed reclaimed wooden chair creates an edginess in front of the geometrical refined wood wall feature in the reception area.

Scandinavian influences are infused into the waiting area along with a comfy eye-catching sky blue sofa, raw wood block side tables and cow hide rug to offer a warm and cosy chill out corner for both clients and staff alike.  Construction steel bars were used to build the product display units which also function as a see-through partition separating the waiting and work areas.  Beyond the partition, are two original 1970’s Japanese vintage barber chairs in lip-plumping red which serves as a focal point behind the steel bars.

Recycled raw edged wood pieces held together by traditional Japanese butterfly joints form the styling counter tops which are supported by bespoke vintage-style cast iron bases.  A neutral colour stucco wall along with the original wood floor gives an overall relaxing and warm sensibility to the salon.
